David LaMalva received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia in 1986. Upon receiving his Juris Doctorate from the University of Georgia School Of Law, David was admitted to the bar in 1989. He graduated from Heritage High School in Conyers.
He began his legal career working in private practice and then joined the Rockdale County Public Defender's Office as an assistant in 1993. In 1995, he was appointed to the position of Public Defender and served in that capacity until 1997.
Working together since 1999; David and Paul established LaMalva & Oeland, P.C. in 2004 in Conyers, Georgia. The practice has since expanded with the opening of another location in Midtown Atlanta.
David is a former Board Member for Georgia Legal Services and the Rockdale Hospital Foundation. He was selected as a member of Leadership Rockdale, a program of the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves as a Board Member for the Conyers Housing Authority and the Dekalb Technical College Law Enforcement Academy Advisory Board. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia's Criminal Law Section, the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Rockdale and Newton County Bar Associations as well. David and his family are members of Conyers Presbyterian Church. He and his wife, Anne, have two children and actively participate with the Rockdale Youth Soccer Association and the Rockdale Youth Baseball Association.
